Chaidh am Plana Gàidhlig againn aontachadh le Bòrd na Gàidhlig air 7 Cèitean 2024 agus tha e a’ mìneachadh na lèirsinn againn airson na Gàidhlig ann an sgìre Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd. Bheir na gnìomhan sa phlana cothrom dhuinn fàs is leasachadh a thoirt air ar cuid obrach sa Ghàidhlig agus ann an cultar, thairis air beatha còig-bliadhna a’ phlana.
Bidh am plana seo a’ togail air na chaidh a choileanadh sna trì planaichean Gàidhlig mu dheireadh againn, agus a’ neartachadh nam builean air a bheil sinn ag amas. Tha sinn cuideachd a’ daingneachadh an dealais againn do bhith a’ cur ri lìbhrigeadh Plana Cànain Nàiseanta na Gàidhlig tro bhith a’ cur taic ris na prìomh amasan aige de bhith a’ cur ri cleachdadh na Gàidhlig agus ionnsachadh na Gàidhlig.

The Highland Council Gaelic Language Plan 2024–2029
Gaelic language is an intrinsic part of the culture, economy, and identity of the Highland area. The Highland Council plays a significant role in strengthening Gaelic through education, leisure and sport, visitor and tourism sectors, the creative industries and a breadth of Gaelic and cultural community activities.
Our Gaelic Language Plan (GLP) was approved by Bòrd na Gàidhlig on the 7 May 2024 and sets out our vision for Gaelic in the Highland Council area. The actions within the plan will enable us to grow and develop our work in Gaelic and cultural development over the five-year lifespan of the GLP.
This plan builds on the achievements of our three previous GLPs and strengthens the targeted outcomes. We also confirm our commitment to enhance the delivery of the National Gaelic Language Plan by supporting the main aims of increasing the use and learning of Gaelic.
