Description
Apply Once is a benefit enquiry application where, using the information you have provided us about your circumstances allows us to assess what benefits you are likely to be entitled to. This includes -
Housing Benefit
Council Tax Reduction
Second Adult Rebate
Council Tax discounts and exemptions
Free School Meals
School Clothing Grant
Discretionary Housing Payments
Disablement Band Reduction
Garden Aid
Parking permitIn order for us to make this assessment, we may require to process data such as:
Name, address, date of birth, household details, household circumstances, financial circumstances, and bank details
Special Category data will not be expressly requested in connection with applications for the Scheme, but it is possible that co-incident collection of Special Category data could occur as a result of information provided by applicants (or third party individuals acting on their behalf) in connection with the applications, including, but not limited to, information relating to the applicant's health or family circumstances.
• How will we use the information
The information you provide us will be used to identify any benefits that you could be eligible for and to allow you to proceed to making an application should you wish to do so.

Article 6(1)(e) UK GDPR - the council's processing of this data is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest.
Article 9 (2)(b) UKGDPR Special categories of data in relation to benefit applications are processed under Employment, social security and social protection law. -

Who we share your information with
Information may be shared with the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP). This data will only be provided where the Council is processing claims on behalf of the customer.Real time information is shared directly between the DWP and the Council to reduce fraud and error.We also share this information with HM Revenue & Customs, other council services, and other local authorities. -
How long we hold your information
We hold your data for 6 years plus current.
