Description
Personal data is processed for the purpose of collecting and recovering Business Improvement District (BID) Levy payments. Owners of non domestic property and/or land are required to provide The Highland Council with information regarding the ownership and/or letting of their property and/or land under the terms of Section 235 of the Local Govt (Scotland) Act 1947. This information is then used for the billing and collection of the BID levy under the terms of the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006 (Business Improvement Districts Levy) Order 2007.

If you don't give us your information
Failure to provide this information within seven days may result in a penalty of £50. Any owner who knowingly provides false information may be liable for a fine of £100.

Who we share your information with
Information is shared with the relevant BID company, the Sheriff Officers who deal with recovery of unpaid BID levy and the Assessor who deals with property valuation.

How long we hold your information
Information is kept for the current year ie. the year in which the information was requested plus five years.

Your personal information is not subject to automated decision making or profiling.
