Purpose
The Expression of Interest form aims to open a dialogue about a potential Asset Transfer. -
Description
In January 2017, the Community Empowerment Act extended communities' powers to participate in the delivery of services and take-over management or ownership of Assets. The process through which communities can take-over Assets is described as Community Asset Transfer. Highland Council procedure includes an initial Expression of Interest stage for communities to register their interest in an Asset and be signposted to support services. It also allowas the Highland Council to notify any relevant stakeholders in relation to the Asset.

If you don't give us your information
If you don't provide the mandatory information on the Expression of Interest form, we will be unable to assess your initial eligibility for Community Asset Transfer.

Conditions for processing personal information
The Council is processing your data as part of the Asset Transfer process as set out in the Community Empowerment Act. Therefore, processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest [Article 6(1)(e) of GDPR].

Who we share your information with
The contact details of the Community Transfer Body you represent, the contact details of the person submitting the Expression of Interest and the detail of the Expression of Interest may be shared with relevant stakeholders depending on the Asset. Relevant stakeholders may include: the Highland Council Owning Service, High Life Highland, other public authorities (such as the NHS or Police Scotland); Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Development Trusts Association Scotland; Highland Third Sector Interface, the Scottish Government.
