Farr Primary School comprises of 2 classrooms (Primaries 1 – 3 / Primaries 4 – 7) and pre-school class provision and has access to the school gymnasium, meals hall, music room, drop-in centre and a computer suite which is an invaluable resource for pupils. There are also facilities for pupils with additional support needs.The school is attached to Farr High School, the local secondary school but both retain their own identity. The school enjoys a good relationship with Farr High School and the physical joining of the buildings has enhanced the links. Children who join our nursery at 3 years of age complete their primary education and transfer smoothly to their secondary education.The staff at Farr Primary School work hard to provide a happy and safe environment for its pupils. It is the aim of the school to meet not only the children’s educational needs but also their social and emotional needs. The staff provide a motivating and stimulating curriculum which provides pupils with the skills and knowledge they need to become responsible citizens of the future. All pupils are expected to work hard, respect each other, the staff and the school environment. The school has a positive discipline policy which was produced by staff, pupils and with the agreement of parents. A positive partnership between home, school and the wider community is promoted and there is an active and supportive School Board. There are also pupils with special needs, who are supported in mainstream classes by teachers or learning support auxiliaries.
