Description
TPOs are statutory designations served to protect important trees and woodlands.The Council is responsible for the serving and administration of Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997. The Act requires the Council to hold TPO files containing the Order, tree work applications and all associated correspondence. A register of TPO’s and tree work applications is also maintained.

Who we share your information with
Following the serving of a TPO, the Council is required to advertise the Order for a period of 28 days. Information relating to the Order will remain available for a period of up to 6 months until either confirmed or revoked. If confirmed, information relating to TPO’s are required by law to remain accessible. Unless there is a request to see details of a TPO, your information will not be shared with anyone outwith the Council, or used for any other purpose.
