Purpose
We are conducting a staff digital transformation survey to gather data on employees’ digital skills within the Highland Council for the purpose of supporting staff learning and development; so that we can improve the way we offer and develop services for the benefit of Highland communities. We collect survey information from you as a Highland Council employee or worker, for the following purposes: - 1. Analyse the information for research purposes 2. Improve and develop Council support and services 3. Meet the public sector equality duty under the Equality Act 2010 4. Enable employees and managers to be treated fairly and be supported in line with HR policies and procedures, whilst ensuring compliance of the Equality Act, the Employment Rights Act, the Working Time Regulations, the Trade Union Act and the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. -
Description
We collect and process the following data about you:
- Information you give when responding to this survey, relating to your skills, opinions, attitudes, and experiences.
- Equalities Monitoring information which involves you providing sensitive personal data about your gender and physical and mental health.
- Information which is automatically collected by the system comprising details of your visit to our website, including operating system and browser type, visited pages and IP address. We do not process or analyse this information.

If you don't give us your information
We are seeking as many responses to this survey as possible as this will improve the accuracy of our statistical reports and the quality our workforce development plans.
- Your response to this survey is, however, completely voluntary and you are under no obligation to give us your information.

Conditions for processing personal information
This survey will inform workforce development plans which are required to ensure staff have the right skills to deliver and develop modern services expected by the Highland communities we serve. The conditions for processing personal information are therefore to carry out tasks in the public interest, set out in Article 6(1)(e) of GDPR.
Special categories of data relating to employment are processed under Article 9(2)(b) of GDPR.

Who we share your information with
Your information is anonymous which means that no information about you as an individual can or will be shared. Survey responses will be analysed and used in statistical reports about the findings of the survey. These statistical reports may be published on our website and may therefore, be shared with the public.

Survey responses will be held for three years. Statistical reports will be held for longer.
