Benefits - Child Disability Payment
-
Description
In Scotland, Child Disability Payment replaces Disability Living Allowance for Children that was previously delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions.
The payment administered by Social Security Scotland provides extra money to help with the costs of caring for a child with a disability or ill-health condition.
You can apply for Child Disability Payment if the child's disability has not yet been diagnosed.
If the child already gets Disability Living Allowance for children you do not need to apply for Child Disability Payment. You’ll continue to get your Disability Living Allowance for children payments from the Department for Work and Pensions.
From Autumn 2021 cases will start to be transferred to Child Disability Payment and you’ll get your payments from Social Security Scotland instead.
