Purpose
Children and Young People’s Participation Strategy. -
Description
As part of the Highland Childrens Services Plan 2023 - 26 we are co-creating a Children and Young People’s Participation Strategy.
This strategy, in line with the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 is being devised to ensure that Article 12 (your right to be heard) of the UNCRC is enacted in Highland.
The initial stages of developing the Participation Strategy involve inviting children and young people to participate in consultation either face to face or by Microsoft form. The data collected from the consultation period will be themed and therefore anonymised and will help to inform the writing of the Participation Strategy.
In line with the Lundy Model of participation we will seek to share the views of children and young people to improve services affecting them. Anonymised information will be shared with services to support them to develop participatory practices moving forwards.
There will be ongoing opportunities for children and young people to share their views via the childrens rights and participation group website, and this will be via an anonymous form.
We will create a mailing list for children and young people to sign up to, which will allow us to share results of the consultation, the completed participation strategy and other opportunities relevant to the participation of children and young people. The information collected will support us to share these opportunities as widely as possible. These details will only be used for sending email updates to you.
