Purpose
Provision of grants to individuals, schools, third sector and community organisations. -
Description
We can provide discretionary and other funding to individuals, schools, third sector and community organisations. Personal information and bank details are required to process applications and make payments. Grants are normally issued by BACS transfer. We gather information about individuals to ensure that applications are relevant, within the scope of the various grant schemes and are eligible for applications to trust funds against the criteria set.
Your contact details (including your telephone and e-mail if supplied) are used to correspond with you in the event that further information about your application is required.

If you don't give us your information
If you don’t provide the personal information required in your application, contact information or bank details, we will not be able to process and where applicable pay, any grant awarded.

Conditions for processing personal information
Public Task - Article 6 (1)(e). Processing is necessary for the performance of a task to administer grants issued by Highland Council under the Local Government Scotland Act 2004

Who we share your information with
Your personal information will be shared with Highland Council staff responsible for processing applications and payment of grants. Your personal information will also be shared with elected members (councillors) who are trustees of the educational grant schemes. Your name may be used alongside the award as part of committee papers, which may be published. Your application form, personal and bank details are not shared publicly.

Your information will be held for six year plus current year.
