Description
The Inverness City Centre Development Brief promotes and guides opportunities for development, regeneration and enhancement of Inverness city centre. It was adopted as Supplementary Guidance in February 2018 to become part of the Council’s statutory Development Plan. The Development Brief must be considered by anyone applying for planning permission for development in the city centre.

Strategic Environmental Assessment
As with all plans, policies and strategies we produce, the supplementary guidance has been subject to a strategic environmental assessment to assess the level of significance of any environmental impacts.

Habitats Regulations Appraisal
The draft guidance was the subject of a Habitats Regulations Appraisal (HRA) in respect of European conservation site interests. Read the HRA Record.

Equalities Impact Assessment (EqIA)
Equalities Impact Assessment (EqIA) screening was undertaken for the draft guidance which determined that a full EqIA will not be required. Read the EQIA Screening Report.
