Apply for a licence - Young performers

We recognise that the opportunity to perform on stage or screen, or to take part in sporting or modelling activities, can be of significant benefit to the wellbeing of children and young people.

We have a licensing system which provides for the protection and wellbeing of young performers and participants in activities. The Children (Performances and Activities)(Scotland) Regulations 2014, provides arrangements for the safeguarding of children involved in all performances and licensed activities.  It addresses risks both to the immediate safety and longer term wellbeing of children as a direct consequence of their participation in organised arts performances, licensed sporting activities, or modelling activities.
