Renewable energy for communities
Communities and Renewable Energy Scheme
The Communities and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) has been established by the Scottish Government to encourage local and community ownership of renewable energy across Scotland.
CARES is delivered by Local Energy Scotland, a nationwide consortium dedicated to enabling community and local uptake of renewable energy projects.
Local Energy Scotland provides support, advice and financial assistance to community groups and rural businesses who wish to generate renewable energy or gain benefit from local commercial renewable energy schemes.
