Claiming an abandoned vehicle

To claim an abandoned vehicle you must prove you are the owner within an agreed timescale or the vehicle will be removed to safe storage.

Acceptable evidence would be:

• The original purchase invoice
• Vehicle registration document (DVLA form V5)
• Certificate of insurance showing vehicle details and the insured person's name
• Document showing the vehicle's details together with the claimant's name and address
