Public transport in Highland

Ferry travel

Transport Scotland have a contract with Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) for ferries from the Highland mainland and Skye to the Western Isles, Mull, the Small Isles and Raasay, and from Mallaig to Skye. They have another contract with Northlink for the Scrabster – Stromness (Orkney) route. Other ferries to Orkney are operated by Pentland Ferries and John O’Groats Ferries.

The Highland Council operates the Corran Ferry, and has contracts for ferries on the following routes:
