Dangerous and defective buildings

We are responsible for making sure dangerous and defective buildings are safe to the public. We encourage owners to take their responsibilities seriously and keep their properties in a safe and secure manner.

If an owner fails to take appropriate steps or when emergency action is required, we can take emergency action under the The Building (Scotland) Act 2003 to make buildings safe or prevent public access.
