Request copies of building standards documents

You can apply online for a copies of building standards documents. There is a fee for this service which is reviewed annually with any fee increase taking effect from 1 April each year.

View summaries of building warrant submissions from 2010 onwards free of charge by using Building Standards - search on Public Access. This will also allow you to locate your warrant reference number if you do not already know it.

You can also view or download copies of planning applications from 2010 onwards free of charge by using Planning - search on Public Access.

Restrictions on who can receive documents

Documents for householder (domestic properties) can only be issued to any prospective or current owner, occupier, tenant of the relevant building or an attached adjoining building.

Documents for non-householder (business or industrial) properties cannot be issued where copying may present security concerns for properties such as prisons, banks or building societies.

How we process your request

On receipt of your request, we will identify the file and the availability of the documents requested for copying. We aim to provide copy documents within 10 working days from receipt of your request.

All copies of documents will be emailed, wherever possible. Printing and postage costs may apply.
