Highland Investment Plan
In May 2024, we agreed a new approach to develop sustainable local services and communities for the future.
The £2 billion Highland Investment Plan sets out a plan for development of communities across Highland, with over £1 billion of capital investment in local service provision over the first 10 years, which includes schools and roads.
The master-planning approach will be used to consider what the opportunities are within a local area.
A new generation of community facilities has been proposed which are called Points of Delivery (POD), these would be a way of delivering a range of public services that better fit the needs of communities.
This could include spaces to provide services such as:
- education
- health
- leisure
- childcare
- public support
- community spaces
- service delivery
The opportunities will depend on each individual location.
