Common Good asset changes
Disposal of or change of use of a Common Good asset
The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 means a local authority must have a consultation process before deciding whether or not to dispose of or change the use of a Common Good asset.
This makes sure we are open about what we are doing and allow communities to be involved. Community councils and community bodies will be notified and invited to make representations. The proposal will also be widely publicised and available for public representations to be made. We have to respond to any representations we get and must take them into account when making a decision on the proposal.
