Council website roadmap
How we plan to improve accessibility on www.highland.gov.uk
We are currently in the process of upgrading and redesigning our website and its content to be fully WCAG 2.2 AA compliant.
We aim to have our new website available in Autumn 2025.
Work completed
Below is a list of the changes which have been implemented as part of our accessibility roadmap.

Manual checks using screen reader software | Manual checks were undertaken using JAWS and ORCA to evaluate how effectively the screen reader could access the content | November 2021 |
Announcement banner contrast | Changed background color from #d9ab24 to #ffcc00 and changed accent colours from white to black | October 2021 |
