Highland Youth Convenor
The Youth Convenor post is unique in Scotland and is part of the area's commitment to better understanding and engaging with issues important to Highland's young people.
The Youth Convenor is a full-time paid post for a young person to represent the interests of their peers and liaise with council services. Based with us and aged over 18, the young person's representative is connected to the Highland Youth Parliament and serves for one year.
The post holder is appointed under the youth recruitment scheme and carries out key duties such as:
- Helping with the co-ordination of communication with other young people
- Offering a consistent link for members and officials to informally seek young people's views
- Being part of the formal structures of the Council where appropriate
The post of Youth Convenor is hosted on behalf of us by High Life Highland.
Further information is available from High Life Highland and Highland Youth Parliament.
