Community Council Contested Elections 2023
Ballot Date - Monday 27 November 2023
A postal ballot has been held for the Community Councils detailed below as the number of nominations received exceeded their maximum membership:
- Bettyhill, Strathnaver and Altnaharra
- Croy and Culloden Moor
- Dunvegan
- Glengarry
- Kiltearn
- Melvich
- Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry
- Thurso
- Watten
- Wester Loch Ewe
Ballot papers were posted out to all those registered to vote as of 1 October 2023 and requested that electors may vote for up to the maximum number of candidates, as there are seats available, by marking a cross (✘) in the box opposite the names of the candidates they are voting for.
The Count
The counting of the votes for all will commence at midday on Monday 27 November 2023 in The Highland Council Offices, High Street, Dingwall, IV15 9QN with the results to be declared and published online.

The schedule of timings for counting votes for each community council can be viewed below.

- Glengarry
- Thurso
- Watten
- Wester Loch Ewe
and at 2pm:
- Croy and Culloden Moor
- Kiltearn
- Melvich
- Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry
