University bursaries
This funding is available to students in the following categories:
George Denoon Bursary
- People born in the burgh or parish of Cromarty or resident there for at least 5 years immediately prior to the bursary competition
- Available for any university or educational establishment. We have to be satisfied of good moral character of candidate
William Denoon Bursary
- People born in the burgh of Cromarty or resident there for at least 5 years immediately prior to the bursary competition
- Available for any central institution. We have to be satisfied of good moral character of candidate
George Mackenzie Bursary
- People born in the burgh or parish of Dingwall who have been in regular attendance at Dingwall Academy immediately prior to the bursary competition
- Available for any university, central institution, college of education or other further education centre approved by us
George Macleod Bursary
- Pupils in regular attendance at Tain Royal Academy for at least 2 years immediately prior to the bursary competition
- Available for any university or central institution
Kenneth Murray Memorial Bursary
- Pupils in regular attendance at Tain Royal Academy for at least 1 year immediately prior to the bursary competition
- Available for any university or central institution
Rosehaugh Bursary
- People who have at any time prior to the bursary competition been in regular attendance for not less than 1 year at Avoch Junior Secondary school or Killen Primary school
- Available at any university
Ross Bursary
- People born in Burgh or Parish of Tain who have been in regular attendance at Tain Royal Academy for at least 4 years immediately prior to the bursary competition
- Available in faculties of arts or medicine at any university
Thomson Memorial
- People born in the Burgh or Parish of Cromarty or those whose parents have lived there for 2 years immediately prior to the bursary competition. To qualify the person must also have been in regular attendance at any time at a school in the area for at least 3 consecutive years
- Available in faculty of arts at any university
Awards are competitive and are subject to sufficient investment income.
This fund is open from 1 January to 28 February each year.
If you wish to reapply during the duration of your course then you will require to reapply each year for a bursary.
