We rent out garages and garage sites across the Highland Council area.
- Garages are usually made of brick or blockwork
- Garage sites are plots of land where you can build your own garage, subject to an agreed design
Who can apply
You do not have to be a Highland Council tenant to apply, but if you are not a tenant we will apply 20% VAT to the garage rent.
You can apply for more than one garage, but you will be charged VAT on second and subsequent garages. This applies to both tenants and non-tenants.
Garages and sites are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
You may not be eligible if you:
- owe rent or council tax to the Highland Council
- have been evicted from a previous tenancy
We check for:
- current or former rent arrears, including garage rent
- court expenses
- repair charges
- Council Tax debt
