Highland Council - Marine fuel sales
As part of The Highland Council’s budget decisions for 2017/18 made on 16 February 2016, Members agreed to increase the margin on marine fuel sales.
The budget proposal was to set a target margin of 3 pence for every litre sold - based on a volume of sales or 22,000,000 litres per annum from the 1st April 2017. This should not be misinterpreted as a 3 pence increase on the current selling price as the actual target margin increase equates to only 1 pence per litre.
The Highland Council recognises the importance of supplying reasonably priced fuel to the businesses and vessels dependent upon the services supplied at Highland Council Harbours and will endeavour to realise the target margin without adversely affecting their businesses.
