HMICS report puts question mark over SPA's decisions
Responding to the report published today (21 June) by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland on the Scottish Police Authority, The Leader of the Council, Margaret Davidson said:
“This report raises serious concerns over the decision making process of the Board and the effectiveness of their role in ensuring proper scrutiny of Police Scotland. I trust that going forward the Board will take a more robust approach to holding Police Scotland to account and will listen to the genuine concerns of local communities.”
She added: “It particularly calls into question the quality of the Board’s decision making, particularly in relation to the reduction of control rooms in Scotland, and I am therefore calling for a full review of the decision to centralise services away from Highland.”
