The Highland Council Appoints New Chief Executive
The Highland Council today (Wednesday) appointed a new Chief Executive. He is Alistair Dodds, the Council’s Depute Chief Executive.
Mr Dodds will take over his new post when Arthur McCourt, Chief Executive, retires in July after 12 years at the helm.
From Kelso, Mr Dodds moved to the Highlands in 1991 as Depute Director of Manpower Services with Highland Regional Council. In 1995, he was appointed Director of Personnel with the Regional Council.
In 1998, he was appointed Director of Corporate Services and Depute Chief Executive with The Highland Council.
Earlier this week, his title changed to Depute Chief Executive when Corporate Services and the Chief Executive’s Office merged to become the Chief Executive’s Office.
