Tweeddale tenants ‘revitalise’ Fort William town centre
Highland Council is pleased to announce that new tenants have moved in to their new homes at Tweeddale Apartments in Fort William.
Leader of Lochaber Area Cllr Andrew Baxter said:
“I am delighted that the Council has completed this £2.9 million development at Tweeddale in the Town Centre and that we are now seeing tenants re-populating and revitalising this key site. This is great news for Lochaber where there has been a shortage of affordable housing. The development is especially welcome because of its key High Street location in the town centre.
The development provides a mixture of 22 one and two bedroomed flats, which are for affordable rent owned and managed by Highland Council. The new units have been developed by Robertson Construction. The homes which are all now occupied were designed by Highland Council.
The project was funded by Highland Council as a part of the agreed Council House Build Programme with grant assistance provided by the Scottish Government. The Council and partners are also delivering new affordable housing at Raasay Court and Belhaven Drive.
