Inverness Library closure
Issued by High Life Highland
Inverness Library had to close earlier today when a piece of rubble fell into a public area. The incident occurred around 15.30pm today and the library has since been closed to the public.
A spokesperson for High Life Highland said: “In the interests of customer and staff safety a decision has been taken to close Inverness Library while investigations are commenced following a piece of rubble falling through the ceiling and landing at the edge of a public area. No-one was injured but as a precaution customers and staff were evacuated from the building. Maintenance staff from The Highland Council are on site and will carry out a full inspection after which the reopening of the library will be reviewed."
