First Tain and Easter Ross Ward Forum

The first Ward Forum for The Highland Council electoral ward of Tain and Easter Ross will take place at the Seaboard Village Hall, Balintore on Thursday 23rd August at 7.30pm.

The aim of the forum is to provide an effective scrutiny of the way the Council provides services in the Tain and Easter Ross Ward.  The meeting will be held in public and there will be a 20 minute session at the close of the meeting for the public to ask questions.

The meeting will be attended by the three councillors who serve Tain and Easter Ross – Councillors Richard Durham, Alasdair Rhind and Alan Torrance  – as well as representatives from community councils and the police.

The Tain and Easter Ross Ward Forum will provide an opportunity for community representatives and the public to raise local issues, scrutinise local council delivery and performance and help make choices about local service delivery, where appropriate.

The agenda for the first meeting has been drawn up based in consultation with local Community Councils and will focus on the services provided by TEC Services.

A Police representative will also be present at the Forum to talk about Community Safety.

Caroline MacAskill, Highland Council’s Ward Manager – Tain and Easter Ross said: “We will also take the opportunity to agree the dates and agenda topics for future Ward Forum meetings. Members of the public are invited to come along and listen or have a question to put to the public question and answer session. “
