Reassurance given to bus users in Lochaber

The Highland Council is committed to providing transport throughout Lochaber says a senior local Councillor following the announcement that Stagecoach are likely to be pulling services out of the area.

Chair of the Lochaber Committee, Councillor Andrew Baxter said: “There are lots of rumours within communities that they will lose their service but this is not the case. Although we still haven’t had official notification from Stagecoach, on behalf of my fellow Lochaber councillors I would like to give our communities the reassurance that work is going on behind the scenes and the Council will endeavour to continue servicing any areas affected in the near future, but some service adjustments may be necessary to allow this.

“We hope to be in a position to make a public announcement shortly but in the meantime I can confirm that that we are fully committed to making sure our communities continue to have bus links.”
