Partnership award presented at Ardnamurchan High
An Ardnamurchan High School Teacher, Mrs Wendy Green was recently awarded the Iain Cameron Partnership Award for 2018.
Partners, parents and the wider community attended an evening event at the High school (Wednesday 21 March) to see the impact on the curriculum and wider achievement for young people which partnership working achieves.
An excellent finger buffet, provided by West Highland College partner, Michael Campbell and pupils from Ardnamurchan High School, was served and appreciated by all.
A presentation delivered by Head Teacher, Christopher Millar-Craig and Depute, Simon Patterson, showcased the wide range of partnership working, including, Associate Primary schools, High Life Highland Skills Development Scotland, Eden Court Outreach programme, health professionals, parents and community volunteers, Gaelic organisations, extra-curricular sports providers, music tutors and organisations and a wide range of national organisations which help provide wider opportunities such as Duke of Edinburgh, John Muir Award, the World Challenge, the Rotary and Springboard Scotland.
There was also a major focus on all the voluntary time staff, parents and the wider community give to enhance the opportunities for young people which is the key focus for the annual Iain Cameron Award. This year, in recognition of the extensive lunchtime and after school sporting activity offered, and her drive to make physical activity as inclusive as possible, the panel made the award to Mrs Wendy Green and this was presented by Mrs Louise Cameron.
