Ballot on proposed Business Improvement District for Nairn

A postal ballot is to be held on the proposal of the Nairn Connects Business Improvement District Steering Group to introduce a Business Improvement District (BID) for Nairn.

A notice of election has been published today (Thursday, 21 June 2018) and a copy of the notice will be issued by post to all eligible persons in the BID area. These include non-domestic ratepayers listed in the geographical area of the proposed BID as at today’s date of the Ballot Notice (21 June 2018).

Ballot papers will be sent to 281 eligible voters arriving no later than Thursday 5 July 2018 for return to Electoral Reform Services by no later than 5pm on Thursday 16 August 2018.

The count will take place on Friday 17 August 2018 and the result will be announced shortly after.

The ballot will be conducted entirely by post on behalf of Steve Barron, Ballot Holder, The Highland Council, by the Independent Scrutineer, Electoral Reform Services of 33 Clarendon Road, London

The BID arrangements and proposals will be described in detail in the BID Business Plan, which will be issued to those eligible to receive a ballot paper.
