Interim Community Council elections
FULL DETAILS & APPLICATION FORMS
Nominations are being invited from people seeking election to seven Highland community councils covering areas in Ross and Cromarty, the Isle of Skye, and Lochaber.
Community Councils are voluntary organisations that express the views and concerns of local people within their area across a wide range of issues from new buildings and roads to local services and facilities.
The need to hold interim elections has come about due to the resignation of some members which have brought the community councils down to below half of their memberships
The seven community councils looking for people to put themselves forward are:
• Balintore and Hilton Community Council
• Conon Bridge Community Council
• Dunvegan Community Council
• Saltburn and Westwood Community Council
• Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry Community Council
• Sunart Community Council
• Tain Community Council
To stand for election candidates must be entered in the current Electoral Register for the Community Council area.
Nominations are also invited from people seeking election to re-establish Staffin Community Council on the Isle of Skye where there are 8 vacancies.
The deadline for receiving all nominations is 4.00 pm on Wednesday, 3 October 2018.
