Permanent Head Teacher For Skye Cluster Schools
A new permanent Head Teacher of the cluster primary schools at Kyle and Kyleakin has been appointed.
Mrs Alison MacLennan from Kyleakin, who has been Acting Head Teacher for both schools since August 2007 successfully got the job. She has worked for the last 17 years in schools within the Skye and Lochalsh area including Auchtertyre and Sleat.
She said: “I am delighted to take up the post because I have enjoyed working with the pupils, staff and parents of both school communities in moving initiatives and projects forward. I also look forward to being able to offer consistency and stability for both schools as Head Teacher.”
The Chairman of The Highland Council’s Education, Culture and Sport Committee, Councillor Bill Fernie said: “We are delighted to have appointed Mrs MacLennan who has been covering the post for the last 4 months. I am sure that parents, pupils and staff of the cluster schools will welcome the stability of permanent leadership.”
The current school roll at Kyle Primary School is 67 and 24 pupils attend Kyleakin Primary.
