Positive progress made on North West tourism dialogue
The Highland Council is pleased to report that a very positive meeting was held this afternoon (Monday, 15 October 2018) at Highland Council’s headquarters in Inverness with Community Councillors from the North West Sutherland area.
Cllr Allan Henderson, Chair of the Council’s Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee hosted the meeting.
Cllr Henderson said: “We invited the Community Councils to come and speak to us about public toilet provision and tourism infrastructure generally in the North West part of the Highlands which also encompasses the NC500.
“An excellent meeting was held and we welcome the input we received from the local community leaders - the full details of which will be reported back to the next meeting of The Highland Council on 25th October.
“There has been an ongoing commitment from the Council to engage with the community and to try to get a range of partners to meet and discuss in general about the tourism infrastructure in the North West Highlands. We aim to set up a further partners meeting in November to take this dialogue further forward.”
