Relocation of Ullapool Service Point
From 23rd October Ullapool Service Point and Registrar functions will be moving location to be co-located within Ullapool Library at Ullapool High School.
Partnership working and co-location between Service Point and Library staff is a model used successfully by Highland Council at other locations such as Grantown, Aviemore and Kyle.
A council spokesman said: “The upcoming lease expiry date for the Ullapool Service Point presented us with an opportunity to review service provision to make more effective, efficient and economic use of the Council’s property assets. The new location will maintain close links to the community as it is in close proximity to Ullapool village centre.”
The Service Point will continue to deliver core services Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 1pm with current Library service provision being unaffected.
The benefits of the move will give:
• an enhanced service to the public with easy access to the People Network digital suite
• the further creation of a community hub
• be convenient for Service users
• give flexibility in the way services are offered
• create synergy and sharing of good practice between the different professionals and offering support
• maintain close links to the community
• a new modern Service Point will be created within a key Council facility in Ullapool
• will support the Council’s Asset Management Strategy to better utilise existing Council properties
To facilitate the move on Friday (19 October) the Service Point will close at 10.30am and will open in its doors at its new location at 9.30am on Tuesday (23 October).
Service Point staff have been making the sure that users are aware of the changes but if anyone needs assistance during the time the offices are closed for Registration enquiries they should contact Dingwall Service Point and Registration Office on 01349 868507 and the Highland Council Service Centre on 01349 886606 for all other enquiries.
