Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh by-election timetable confirmed

The timetable for the election for the return of a councillor for the Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh by-election has been confirmed.
The by-election is being held following the resignation of Kate Stephen who was one of four Councillors representing Ward 5. The other Ward members are Councillors Biz Campbell (Independent), Ian Cockburn (Scottish National Party) and Derek MacLeod (Scottish Conservative and Unionist)
The Notice of Election and Nomination Form is published on the Council’s website www.highland.gov.uk. Nomination Forms should be delivered to Robbie Bain, Depute Returning Officer, Corporate Development Service, The Highland Council, Room 106, Council Offices, High Street, Dingwall, IV15 9QN by 4pm on Friday 2 November.
If the seat is contested, voting will take place on Thursday 6 December with the count taking place within the ward on the following day.
Anyone eligible to vote can vote in person on the day or apply for either a postal vote or to vote by proxy. The latest time to apply for a postal vote is 5.00pm on Tuesday 20 November and the deadline for anyone wishing to apply to vote by proxy is Tuesday 27 November. Advice on postal and proxy voting is available by contacting the Electoral Registration Office on 0800 393783.
