Traffic Measures for Academy Street Junction
The existing traffic signals at the Academy Street-Friars Lane-Chapel Street junction in Inverness will be switched off and replaced by temporary traffic signals from Monday 12th November until Friday 16th November 2018.
The traffic will be manually controlled during the day between 7am to 7pm so that the carriageway width can be reduced to a single lane.
The traffic measurements will be in place to allow William Gray Construction to carry out work in refurbishing the former Citizen’s Advice’ building on Academy Street.
The traffic measures will be in place in the interest of public safety as William Gray Construction require to excavate within the road carriageway so that they can install water main and sewer connections.
The pedestrian crossings at the Ironworks will be disabled during this time but there are other existing crossing options (e.g. zebra crossing next to Telephone Exchange) available in close proximity.
