Motorists Advised of Rock Maintenance Works in Lochaber
The Highland Council will be carrying out essential rock slope maintenance works early in the new year on two roads in Lochaber.
R J McLeod Contractors have been awarded a £100,000 contract starting on Monday 14 January 2008, which are scheduled to last for up to eight weeks.
The proposed sequence of works are located on the B863 Kinlochleven – North Ballachulish road at three locations – one mile west of Kinlochleven, three miles west of Kinlochleven and on the outskirts of North Ballachulish - together with a further location on the single track A861 Kinlocheil – Corran Ferry road, two miles north of Corran.
Motorists are advised that delays of up to 20 minutes may occur whilst rock is being removed. Alternative routes are via the B863 Kinlochleven to Glencoe road, and avoiding the A861 by crossing the Corran Ferry.
