Apprentice Mechanics excel with Moray Firth Training
Seven of our apprentices studying with Moray Firth Training have reached the end of their third year in style!
The team have taken 11 exams each over the last 2 years with 79 distinctions (over 80%), 9 merits and 3 passes in total between them.
Scott Matheson and Alick Elrick achieved 11 distinctions, with Elliot Geddes, Jon Hutchison and Gregor Rose all getting 10.
In recognition for his outstanding performance and progress Gregor Rose was awarded with a tool box from Teng Tools and a £50 Voucher from MacGregor Industrial Supplies.
All seven have one year left to finish their portfolios to complete their studies and become fully qualified mechanics, working in the Wick, Fort William, Brora, Aviemore and Inverness depots maintaining our vehicle fleet.
Convener of the Council Bill Lobban congratulated the apprentices saying: “This is a fantastic achievement for all concerned. We are committed at the Highland Council to our ambitious apprenticeship programme and value all our apprentices very highly. These are people we are delighted to invest in and their progress helps us to be more sustainable as a Council. Congratulations and good luck in your final year!”
