A taste of Fairtrade in Fort William
People in Lochaber are invited to join local Highland Councillors at a Fairtrade Foundation information and tasting session in Fort William Service point on Tuesday 2 July between 9.30 - 12.30pm.
Locals and visitors to the area are invited to drop in and find out more about Fairtrade.
This event follows on from the recent success of Fort William achieving Fairtrade town status in May this year.
The tasting and information session is being run by the Fort William Fair trade steering group and will be led by Sasha McKinlay, Fairtrade Town team chair.
Lochaber Committee Chair, Cllr Andrew Baxter said: “The Highland Council has been working with the Fort William Fair Trade group to help achieve Fair Trade Town status and local councillors are delighted with the group’s success.
“I hope that locals will come and see what the group has achieved and learn more about switching your buying power to Fairtrade.”
Sasha McKinlay, Fairtrade Town team chair added: ''Fort William businesses, students, and community organisations have been a great support in achieving Fairtrade Town status. We look forward to speaking to more individuals and groups who would like to become involved in global Fairtrade initiatives on a local basis.''
