Special City of Inverness Committee Meeting to be held in August

A special meeting of the City of Inverness City Committee has been requisitioned to discuss the Inverness River Arts Project.

Discussions have been taking place as to the best timing for this meeting to allow maximum transparency.

Normally, a requisitioned committee would take place within 14 days, however it has been agreed with the member who made the request, that the meeting will be held on 20 August, after the school holidays when many members and families are away.

In the meantime, no building work for any of the three remaining projects will progress.

The Gathering Place is subject to ongoing tender negotiations to identify a suitable contractor to construct the artists’ design.

The Children’s Feature will not be progressed until further discussions have taken place with members.

The Rest Space (Steps) will not be progressed until assessments have been reported to members.

Reports on each of the projects will be made to the Special meeting of City of Inverness Area Committee.
