Change of venue for Nairnshire Committee

Next weeks’ meeting of the Nairnshire Committee on Wednesday 11th September will take place in the Lethen Hall in Auldearn, a change from its usual venue of Nairn Courthouse.

The Courthouse will be hosting the annual Nairn Book and Arts Festival so the local Members took the decision to take the Nairnshire Committee out to Auldearn.

Chair of the Committee, Cllr Heggie said: “Due to the clash of dates this is the ideal time for us to take our committee to Auldearn and hopefully give members of the public living in the community the chance to come along to listen to the meeting.  As a committee we have talked for some time about taking our committee to different communities so this is the ideal opportunity to do this for the first time.”

The meeting will start in Lethen Hall at 10.30am and members of the public are welcome to come along to observe.  The agenda includes a presentation by the Lord Lieutenant on the introduction of Community Awards for Nairnshire, a report by the South Highland Area commander of Police Scotland reviewing the local policing plan, and an update on the Council’s capital projects for Nairnshire. Members will also consider the 2019 Winter Maintenance Plan for the area and discuss both the local housing performance report and progress made for improvement works to local roads and bridges.

The agenda and papers for the meeting are now available on the Council’s website
