Notice of temporary road closure - Fort Augustus

Highland Council has announced that the U1778 Canalside Road South, Fort Augustus, will be closed temporarily to allow Scottish Canals to carry out canal lock gates removal, installation and associated Works.

Traffic will be prohibited from using the U1778 between its junction with the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road and its junction with the B848 Branch Road to Fort Augustus Station.

The prohibition is required to enable works to safely proceed, including the removal and installation of canal lock gates, and will apply to the whole, or a part of the road.

The closure will come into effect at 7am on Monday 4 November 2019 and shall remain in force until 6pm on Friday 27 March 2020 inclusive. Any enquires should be addressed to The Highland Council, Community Services, 94 Diriebught Road, Inverness, IV2 3QN.
