Roadworks On Cromarty Bridge
Issued by Scotland Transerve
Essential maintenance and repair works are to be carried out on Cromarty Bridge by Scotland Transerv and Balfour Beatty. The work will commence on Monday (19th February 2007), for a period of 8 weeks.
Traffic lights will be used to restrict the bridge to a single lane and will be operational from 08:00hrs on Monday 19th February 2007.
The works to be carried out involve removal of the surfacing and concrete investigation works over 3 spans of the bridge. This area of the bridge deck shall be re-waterproofed and resurfaced as part of the works. Additional patching works to the road surface in numerous areas of the southbound lane shall also be carried out at this time.
This scheme is part of the commitment by Transport Scotland to maintain and improve the trunk road network.
Motorists should allow extra time for their journeys. Supervision of the scheme will be carried out by Scotland Transerv.
At the same time, traffic restrictions will remain at Ardullie on the A 862 road between Dingwall and the Cromarty Bridge as The Highland Council continues to repair damage caused by the severe floods of October, last year. Traffic movement will continue to be governed by traffic lights for the next seven weeks, with completion scheduled at the end of March.
