Highland Council Helplines to be launched tomorrow
The Highland Council is preparing to launch dedicated Freephone helplines from tomorrow. One will focus on providing advice and support for people who want to know how they can volunteer and for anyone needing assistance and help. There will also be helplines for anyone with education enquiries.
These helplines for Highland residents are in addition to the national telephone helplines and websites which are already up and we will be able to direct people to national support if relevant.
Chief Executive Donna Manson said: “We have a dedicated team of staff working round the clock on this. These dedicated helplines will provide people with a quick way to access the information they need and will complement what is being done nationally to make sure everyone is as informed as possible. We have a skilled and dedicated team of people ready to answer calls and assist.
“We are continuing to work closely with our Partners here in the Highlands and our officers are monitoring the local situation daily and following the advice given by government and NHS public health experts. We will continue to consider appropriate actions based on the national guidance, but in the meantime, I hope people use the Highland helplines to get the information they need.”
Details of the helpline numbers will be publicised from tomorrow onwards and will be posted on this webpage on the Council’s website https://www.highland.gov.uk/coronavirus
