Highland Council notes Home Farm case continuation
The Highland Council notes the decision made at the Sheriff Court this morning in relation to Home Farm Care Home in Portree, such that the case has been continued for 2 weeks to allow further discussions between the parties involved about the care delivery at Home Farm.
Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee, Cllr Linda Munro noted the decision, saying: “Everyone wants the best possible care for the residents of Home Farm care home. It has been a very worrying time for residents and their families and they will be anxious to hear what is happening. What is clear is that, whatever the final outcome, it is important that residents will be able to remain in their community in Skye and be assured of the best possible level of care.”
Cllr John Finlayson responded on behalf of the Skye and Raasay members. He said: “We look forward to hearing the findings of the court in due course. Everyone in our community values the home and supports all those involved in the care of the residents in what are extremely difficult circumstances. The top priority has to be ensuring that everything possible is done to ensure the highest quality of care for the residents, to support the hard working staff and to provide reassurance to families and the local community moving forward.”
