Road closures in Dingwall and Alness areas.
Motorists are being advised by The Highland Council that there will be 4 planned temporary road closures from 15 - 26 June and on 1, 2 and 3 July in the Dingwall and Alness areas.
The first temporary road closure on a section of the C1023 Dingwall - Lemlair - Evanton Road will extend from its junction with Urquhart Road and extend in a north easterly direction to its junction with the U2007 Woodlands - Pelaig Road for around 2500m at 08:00 on Monday 15 June to 17:00 on Friday 26 June 2020.
This temporary closure is to allow contractors to carry out tree felling safely. Access for pedestrians, residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained. Alternative routes will be available via the B817 - A9 (Trunk road) - A862 and Tulloch Avenue.
On Wednesday 1 July 2020 from 08:00 to 16:00 a section of the A862 Ardullie – Dingwall – Beauly - Inverness Road from its junction with Craigend Court and extending eastwards towards Ardullie roundabout for around 4500 metres will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians to allow the inspection of Mineral Bridge to be carried out safely. An alternative route for will be signposted via the A9 - A835 (Trunk roads) - A862.
On 2 July 2020 from 08:00 to 16:00 a section of the B817 Evanton - Alness - Invergordon - Kildary Road commencing at its junction with the A9 (Trunk road) and extending in a north easterly direction for around 500 metres will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians to allow Network Rail engineers to inspect the rail bridge safely. An alternative route for traffic will be signposted via the C1023 Dingwall - Lemlair - Evanton Road - B9176 Struie Road - A9 (Trunk road).
A section of the U1474 Achnagarron – Rosskeen - Alness Road will also be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians from 08:00 until 16:00 on Friday 3 July 2020 to allow Network Rail engineers to inspect their rail bridge safely. The closure will commence at the junction with the B817 Evanton – Alness -Invergordon - Kildary Road and extending in a north direction for around 50 metres. An alternative route will be signposted via the B817 Evanton – Alness – Invergordon - Kildary Road – C1210 High Street Invergordon - C1212 Castle Road - C1063 Invergordon - Tomich Road-A9 (Trunk road).
