Smithton & Culloden Flood Protection Scheme update
Highland Council is appealing for public patience while the grass grows at the newly completed works in both Smithton and Culloden parks.
The Smithton & Culloden Flood Protection Scheme Works are now complete. At present, there is no access to the parks as the grass has only recently been sown and it requires time to establish before people can enjoy access to it.
To allow the new grass areas to establish, the parks will remain closed for 6 weeks which will provide a better surface for the community to enjoy in the long run. Early access will lead to wear and tear of the new pitches and surrounding areas that would require additional cost to rectify.
The Council will also undertake tree planting in the area once the appropriate season comes in October and thanks everyone for their patience.
